Key Responsibilities

The Grants Officer will provide financial and accounting and administrative support to Hedayah’s Programs’ Departments in grant writing proposals and grant implementation in close coordination with Finance Department. The Grants Officer will report to the Finance Manager.

Grants Officer at Hedayah will be responsible for:

· Develop grant management procedures and necessary supporting documentation.

· Prepare detailed line item budgets for international donors, in conjunction with the related department.

· Conduct detailed negotiations with the donor, in conjunction with the related department.

· Ensure that the grant agreement and grant implementation adheres to each international donor grant regulations.

· Plan, manage, verify and correct the status of grants obligations and liquidations on a regular basis, throughout the grant cycle.

· Ensure timely and satisfactory completion of all financial and accountancy and administrative matters in relation to implementing and concluding program/project activities funded by a grant.

· Establish and maintain paper and electronic program and project files.

· Review and maintain internal financial and accountancy controls of grants.

· Ensure required financial reporting by donors and in accordance to financial system.

· Contribute to regular program/project progress narrative and financial reports and initiate closeout procedures, ensuring all financial and programmatic reporting requirements have been met efficiently, at the end of each grant.

· Assist in audits, checks, monitoring and evaluations of a program/project.

· Request payments from international donors according to relevant terms and conditions.

· Oversee the compliance of program and project requirements and raise issues affecting compliance.

· Coordinate communications between the Program/Project Team and the donor.

Experience

· Five years’ experience working in grants management in an international organization.

· Experience working in an international setting.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, Project Management, Political Science or International Studies.

· Master Degree in a relevant subject is preferable.

Key Skills

· Excellent command of written and oral English.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· Project Management knowledge and skills.

· Accounting Software knowledge and experience.

· Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including governments, institutions, policy makers, community leaders and actors, NGOs, practitioners, donors and experts.

· Able to work independently as well as with a team.

· Constructively managing internal and external relationships with diplomacy, cultural sensitivity and discretion.

· Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

· Flexible, share information and multitask.

· Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural team environment.
