Emergency Response Finance Manager

The Emergency Response Finance Manager is responsible for finance administration, fiscal management and financial and grant reporting for the response team. The incumbent will support the CO and field finance teams to ensure that there are proper systems and tools in place to successfully manage the budgets and finance systems for the response.

The position holder will also work on all the financial aspects of the response including, proposal budget, donor financial reports, internal reports to budget holders, coordinating payments relating to the response and ensuring that they are properly coded and supported In addition, he/she will be required to attend and respond to requests made during the response meetings

Qualifications and Experience
* Accounting Degree (or equivalent certification and experience)
* Recognised accounting qualification – CPA, CIMA, ACCA

Essential
* Experience of and well developed skills in staff management, supervision and capacity building
* Proven track record of supporting a senior management team, and providing strategic support across multiple sectors and/or regions
* Knowledge of the requirements of the major emergency donors and experience in budgeting and reporting to donors.
* Attention to detail and analytical skills
* Experience in similar role in first phase response, including building finance operational platform
* Good understanding of donor compliance and SC reporting mechanisms and requirements
* Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
* Innovative and creative problem solving skills, Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people
* Patient, adaptable, flexible, able to improvise and remain responsive and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure
* Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a workload comprised of varying and changing tasks and responsibilities
* Excellent communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English, with experience in managing multicultural teams

Desirable:
* Experience working with financial systems. i.e. Agresso, Sun system.
* Significant experience with NGOs in an international emergency environment
* Fluent in English and knowledge of Arabic

Contract duration: 6 months
