The Opportunity
Plan International started working in Sudan in 1977.
The Business Development Manager will manage the Business Development Unit which is responsible for identifying and funding opportunities in line with Sudan’s strategic plans and priorities. They will be responsible for raising the program funding portfolio and supporting the country to enhance its image among donors and national offices in order to enable the acquiring of new grants.
The BDM will create quality and successful grant proposals in close coordination with the program team, as well as strengthening systems and processes for effective grant management and compliance.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Development Manager with solid knowledge of linking strategic program objectives into project design.
They will possess experience in leading strategic planning processes and knowledge of programming processes, systems and principles, and be able to provide leadership and support to staff working at community level.
Strong communication skills, fluency in English and good working knowledge of Arabic is essential and a proven track record in writing successful concept notes and proposals mobilizing resources across a range of institutional donors would be advantageous.
The position will be based in Khartoum, Sudan with frequent country travel and some international travel.
Type of Role: 5 year fixed term contract
Location: Khartoum, Sudan
Salary: Circa $50,000 USD per annum plus benefits
Reports to: Deputy Country Director - Programs
