Here’s where you come in:

As Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Advisor – Sudan you will provide overall strategic leadership and direction to World Vision’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programming in Sudan. You will be in charge of program design and development, resource acquisition, donor reporting, quality assurance and capacity building within the WASH sector and ensures adequate representation of World Vision Sudan through networking. You will be responsible for efficient and timely implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene activities, ensuring these are compliant with national and internationally standards. You will be in charge of WASH team management for World Vision Sudan.

Requirements include:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources Management, Civil Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure Development or a related field from accredited university.
  • A Diploma in Public Health, Environmental Sciences or related field.
  • Masters’ degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure Development or a related field from accredited university is added advantage
  • Six (6) years progressive experience in managing WASH projects in fragile contexts.
  • Hands on experience in designing and building water and sanitation infrastructure projects; and in running hygiene promotion activities.
  • Proposal and report writing experience.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Sudan or a similar fragile context.
  • Advanced skills in carrying out WASH-related needs assessments including environmental impact assessments and water quality tests.
  • Thorough understanding and application of WASH and humanitarian standards including ‘Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct’ and the Sphere (WASH) Standards.
  • Fluency in English language. Working knowledge of Arabic.
  • Flexibility of travelling to field sites: The position is roving - 70% in the field location and 30% in Khartoum for coordination purposes.
