Main Purpose of the role:

Options Consultancy seeks a consultant to undertake a review of the current family planning financing context and policy landscape in Sudan, with a view to producing context analyses both health financing and Policy & Planning.

Responsibilities:

The consultant will provide some recommendations of key strategies for the WISH country programme to take forward to support the increased investment in family planning and sexual and reproductive health in Sudan. These will inform subsequent strategies to support increased public sector investments in family planning up to 2021.

The sexual and reproductive health and family planning context analysis will provide the WISH team with a comprehensive picture of the Sudan policy context in this area, identifyi planning gaps, key actors and potential entry points for influencing policy.

About the programme:

WISH Lot 2 is led by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) with the following consortium partners: Options (national ownership lead); Marie Stopes International (service delivery partner); International Rescue Committee (service delivery partner); Development Media International (social norm and behaviour change lead) and Handicap International (inclusion of people with disabilities).

Options’ national ownership approach is based on supporting governments to prioritise sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) in domestic financing and to develop and implement evidence-based policies and plans to meet commitments to create an enabling environment for SRHR and address the unmet need for SRHR, particularly among the poor, youth under 20, and people with disability.
